ABOUT ME

MY STORY

As someone with multiple diagnosed neurodivergences and disabilities including autism and bipolar as well as physical conditions, I struggled.

My communication skills were lacking. I often couldn’t express what I needed or felt. Art was how I learned to communicate. Art gave me a way to express myself where verbalization failed me. Art helped me find community.

I became interested in figure drawing. The examination of silhouettes, body language, and emotional expression further developed my communication skills.

I received my BFA in Illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2015 where I learned the art of storytelling. Stories tell us who we are.

But I wanted to teach holistically. So while achieving my Masters of Arts in Education I also received an AA in Psychology to gain a more rounded perspective.

My art helps me process the world. In that interest, I completed UCLA Arts and Healing’s certification program in Social and Emotional Arts where I learned how to improve social, emotional, and cognitive skills through the arts.

Throughout my own decades long mental health journey, I found that the narrative we unconsciously assign to ourselves dictates our actions. I want to help neurodivergent adults gain agency.

The brain is plastic. It is capable of being dynamic and changing and growing with us. Nothing is set until you’ve decided it is.

I am a Certified Professional Life Coach, and I specialize in coaching adult neurodivergent creatives on executive functioning skills.

My mission is to help other neurodivergents learn to advocate for themselves and author their own narrative by developing management and communication skills.

I’m currently a part time substitute teacher and life coach. When I’m not teaching or making art, I ensure to set aside time for my special interests and try to lead a healthy lifestyle.

To me, everything is about the process. It’s the process that makes the work what it is. Making anything is the result of the work that went before it. No one starts with a masterpiece. In my own art, I aim to express the essence of the models I work with. They have their own stories that need to be told, not just my own.

With art and coaching, it’s a collaboration.
